Last year I was given a set of customisable notebooks to photograph from Wrights Notes. The idea is that you desing the pages to suit your requirements. A little specialist you may think but I know designers out there will go crazy for this.
From a photographers point of view, the product was challenging. With a dark blue cover and bright white pages – negotiating that contrast range and at the same time keeping the print clear and defined would require some compositing of multiple images.
To demonstrate the custimisability of the product we came up with the idea to remove a selection of pages from the notebook and have them tucked under the front cover as if the pages could be ordered as desired.
Each of the images had been shot on a white background intially, and then cutout and placed on a grey background to give the set a sense of consistency.
